There are tables of different shapes and sizes that you can distribute and combine according to your needs. We want our guests to be able to sit comfortably to spend the evening, enjoying pleasant company among family and friends. Let’s take a look at the different types of tables you can use for that special event.

Types of tables for events

Round table

It is the most common table in galas and banquets. Round tables are very good to encourage interaction between guests. They are great for example at weddings with many people who have to know each other, because the diners maintain eye contact with each other, making communication flow clearly.

The problem with round tables is space. This type of table is not advisable at weddings with many guests.

Square table

Its main feature is that the guests will be seated around them in an orderly, proportionate, and cozy way. On square tables, all diners can see each other, so it also favors conversation among them.

Unfortunately, they take up even more space than round tables, so it is the best option if you want to organize an intimate event with few guests. It is not appropriate for protocol or corporate events, but it is suitable for family and intimate gatherings.

Rectangular table

Rectangular tables are perfect for events with many guests in relatively small spaces. Fewer tables are needed, so you can choose a wedding hall not as large as you would need for the same guests at round tables. They are most commonly used for outdoor parties and events.

Their only disadvantage is that not all diners will interact with each other as with round or square tables.

Oval table

The oval table is a middle ground between rectangular and round tables. It favors interaction and takes up less space than rectangular tables. However, oval tables are not as functional as the other kind of tables so they are not often used in events. They cannot be joined with other tables, since their ends are rounded. In addition, guests cannot see each other and speak comfortably unless it is small.

Cocktail table:

This is a tall and narrow table that can be accompanied by a nice decoration. These tables are used to offer drinks and snacks for easy tasting. The main feature of cocktail tables is that there is no large table to sit at to eat. Guests are standing, something that facilitates socializing among them. They can also simplify the organization of the event for the host.

At this type of table, the guests will be standing all the time. So It is important to plan chairs or places to rest.
